We are currently using e-mail archives from the Word Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in order to determine what impact culture has on globally distributed decision making processes. Our research questions are:
I. What is the overall level of activity for decision making processes?
II. Does activity vary by country/nationality?
III. Does individual participation level vary by country/nationality?
IV. What is the relationship between culture (nationality/region, intercultural communication styles)
and distributed decision making?
We are hoping to develop a repeatable methodology, currently using QDA Miner and WordStat, in order to be able to apply it to future data.
